The next edition on the JCE biennial, which will be inaugurated in Montrouge, France, on october 14th, will be broaden to 10 countries representing a new european panorama. Grmany, Austria, Spain, France, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Portugal, Slovakia, will be presenting through the biennial their selection of 8 artists and will be, one after the other, hosting the travelling exhibition. Holland will be participating for the first time, with a selection invited in Montrouge in the occasion of JCE 2001 opening.
The project will allow to the young artists living in one of the 10 prtner countries to be eligible to the next biennial’s selection.The 8 selected artists will have the opportunity to show their works through the travelling exhibition which will drop by each partner country a unic opportunity to broaden each artists’ visibility.
We are particularly careful to the transparency and the broaden diffusion among artists to the call for applications for the JCE biennial. In each partner country, the selection is the result of an independant process defined by the national curator, responsible of the diffusion of the call and of the involvement of a network of professionals of art and cultural institutions. In many JCE partner countries, a national exhibition is the first step of the selection.
For the newt biennial, around 5000 applications are expected among all partner countries, leading to a final choice of 80 artists. To know more about the JCE procedures of selection country by country, click on:
