Residency project proposal

My interest is to map the world we live in and to see the changing time of our cities and places to live. Mapping in a form of drawn notes, written notes and then photographs that can lead to creation of painting on canvas but doesn’t need to.

To map and to record a place is in this case more important than to create a piece, the time stopped in notes that can be drawn or painted is what interests me. The changing world around us and our incapacity to stop it or to fully understand it.

I would like to use this residency as an opportunity to be an observer and reporter of a world that is new for me, I believe this creates a different point of view than somebody who has lived their whole life in this place. At the end of residency I would like to create a series of drawing notes and sketches as well as a photographic documentation that will lead me to a creation of a piece consisting mostly of drawings and maybe texts in the form of a map of images and thoughts or  separated pieces that can be organised to a drawing and painting instalation.

My current research continues the interest about the relationship between painting and other forms of representation. In which especialy looks at the differences between „seeing“ and representing by different medias such as painting, drawing, scientific drawing and photography. On the theoretical base I am interested in the incomparable vision of a technical device such a camera and the human eye and an interesting transmission of image from this technical device into painting. The little differences of seeing the world and mostly representing it, in my opinion changes our vision of the world.

The reseach continues to our time by analyzing ways how these technical images are used by different contemporary artists in painting, drawing, space works and related medias.

In the practical materialisation I’m interested in possibilities of bringing painting and drawing into the space, creating temporary and changing drawing and painting instalations and maping the world by drawing and photography as somehow opposite representational means.
