Valuing things that belong to us makes sense if we are willing to identify with them, because all the things we possess, even the least valuable, have a direct or indirect link to us.

Enhancing the “value of things” through the review of what they represent, the assessment of their shape, then placing them in relationship with others, renaming and de-contextualizing them. Using things left aside for a long period seems like an “economic” variation on the use and consumption of things, but most pressing is the sentimental side of this variant.

The artistic value that is attributed to what you want to “reveal” is the sentimental method that we can implement.

Objects become Subjects and our sensitivity to their repositioning not only enhances their forms, once disparaged, but discloses the true identity of some of these objects.

VARIANT OF THE METHOD

The Object: or what remains of what we eliminate

The everyday object is the pivot of this story. A story bound by memories, by what has been owned and was abandoned. A tale of days when you collect things and put them into your pocket, then go back home and put them on a shelf or a table. One day, you put them away in a box or a drawer. This method emphasizes the possession of things which, for a long or short term, we consider superfluous; things of little value that nevertheless don’t end up in the trash, but in a non-place.

A banal story that concerns everyone, without exception.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Valorizzare le cose che ci appartengono ha un senso se abbiamo la volontà di identificarci con esse, perché tutte le cose che possediamo, anche le più scarne di valore, hanno un legame diretto o indiretto con chi le tiene a se.

Esaltare il “valore delle cose” attraverso la rivisitazione di ciò che loro rappresentano, il ridimensionamento della loro forma, così da rinominarle e decontestualizzarle. Utilizzare le cose che abbiamo per un interminabile istante abbandonato appare come una variante “economica” sull'uso e consumo delle cose, ma ciò che più preme è il lato sentimentale di questa variante.

Il valore artistico che si attribuisce a ciò che si vuole “rivelare” è il metodo sentimentale che possiamo attuare.

Gli oggetti divengono Soggetti e la nostra sensibilità nel riposizionarli all'interno dei luoghi non solo esalta le loro forme, un tempo denigrate, ma sottolinea l'identità certa di questi.

LA VARIANTE DEL METODO

L'oggetto: ovvero, ciò che rimane di quello che eliminiamo.

L'oggetto comune è il perno di questa storia. Una storia vincolata dai ricordi, da ciò che si è posseduto ed abbandonato. Un racconto fatto di giornate in cui si raccolgono delle cose e si infilano in tasca, si ritorna a casa e si appoggia sopra le mensole o sopra un tavolino quello che ci è rimasto sul fondo di queste tasche. Dalle mensole poi, un giorno, le riponiamo all'interno di scatole o di cassetti. Un metodo, questo, che sottolinea un possesso superfluo di tutto ciò a cui, per un lungo o breve periodo, diamo una superflua considerazione; Delle “cose” di esiguo valore ma che comunque non finiscono nella spazzatura, bensì in un non-luogo.

Una storia banale che riguarda tutti. Nessuno escluso.
